YouTube publish failed
How to diagnose and fix a failed YouTube publish in TubeForge — covering expired channel connections, daily upload quota errors, and content policy rejections.
If a video shows a "Publish failed" status, the video did not make it to YouTube. The most common causes are an expired YouTube connection or a quota issue.
Check your channel connection
- Go to Channels.
- Check if the channel shows a connection error or a re-authenticate prompt.
- If it does, click Reconnect and go through the OAuth flow again.
- After reconnecting, retry the publish from the video detail page.
YouTube quota errors
YouTube limits how many videos can be uploaded per day per API key. If you publish a large number of videos in a single day, you may hit this limit. The quota resets at midnight Pacific time. Wait until the next day and retry.
Content policy rejection
YouTube may reject a video that violates its content policy. If the error message mentions content policy, review the video content against YouTube's Community Guidelines before retrying.
Credits are charged when a video is rendered, not when it's published. A failed publish does not result in a credit refund, but you can retry the publish for free.
